ann wilde | pilates instructor & founder
Ann is the founder of Master Pilates and has been a dedicated instructor since 2007. A former professional dancer, she began ballet at the age of five and moved to Melbourne at 18 to train full-time. In 2010, Ann opened Master Pilates in South Yarra, Melbourne, to share the transformative power of Pilates with others. She has a strong focus on injury rehabilitation across all joints, with a particular emphasis on spinal health and back care. Since 2014, she has specialised in conditioning for dancers and Pilates for pre-professional ballerinas. Many of her students have gone on to train and perform with world-renowned institutions including the English National Ballet School, San Francisco Ballet School, The Australian Ballet School, and The Australian Ballet Company.

Sophie Fletcher | pilates instructor
Sophie’s connection to Pilates began at the age of 11, as an activity to complement her ballet training and she continued to practise it throughout her impressive ballet career. She graduated from the Australian Ballet School with an Advanced Diploma of Dance in 2003 and during her training received several scholarships and awards for both her achievements in dance and academic excellence.
On graduating she joined The Australian Ballet and performed with the company for four years. She travelled extensively overseas with the company and was also awarded a travel scholarship in 2005 which enabled her to take classes with major American ballet companies including New York City Ballet, Houston Ballet, San Francisco Ballet and Pacific Northwest Ballet in Seattle. In 2008 Sophie joined the West Australian Ballet as a guest artist and remained there for two years. Sophie then joined the Czech National Ballet at the invitation of the director Petr Zuska and performed many notable classical and contemporary roles. Most recently Sophie appeared as Princess Aurora in Prague Festival Ballet’s Sleeping Beauty during its tour of Germany.
Sophie credits Pilates with helping her to stay injury free during her ballet career by providing her with a strong, healthy body and mind to cope with the stresses of a demanding career. It also enabled her to maintain optimal fitness during off-peak times of work. In 2015 Sophie retired from the stage and returned to Australia to pursue Pilates. She was inspired by her instructor Andrew Baxter to consider pilates instruction as a career and last year completed her certificate IV in matworkinstruction through Polestar Pilates International. Currently she is studying her Diploma. Pilates has become an integral part of Sophie’s life and she hopes her personal experience of the practice will enhance her clients’ experience.

aaliyah batur | pilates instructor
Aaliyah’s passion for movement began at a young age when she was recruited to train with the Philippines’ Grass Roots Gymnastics team. After moving to Singapore, she continued competing internationally up to Level 9, representing gymnastics clubs and schools through to 2024 while training up to twenty-four hours each week. Alongside her athletic pursuits, her interest in exercise science led her to earning the highest global mark in the 2024 Physical Education GCE A-Level examination.
As her gymnastics lessened training due to academic demand, Aaliyah found joy in coaching gymnastics and giving back to the sport, where she discovered a genuine passion for teaching and helping others build confidence in movement. During this same period, she discovered Pilates as an outlet for movement that felt both intentional and sustainable. Drawn to the way Pilates could be individualised to support different bodies and goals without the pressure of performance, it only felt natural for her to pursue teaching Pilates alongside her coaching.
Since completing the Diploma of the Pilates Method, she loves helping clients move in a way that feels supportive, enjoyable, and connected to everyday life. Her teaching style is open, mellow, and cheerful, with a focus on creating a welcoming environment where clients feel comfortable and encouraged at every stage of their movement journey. In 2025, Aaliyah moved to Melbourne to pursue her studies in law. Having lived in five countries, she has developed a love for travel, languages, and connecting with people from different backgrounds. Outside the studio, she will happily take any excuse to visit a trampoline park.
